The traditional, extremely zestful Benjamin Piano Trio, named after Emir Imerov's dog Ben, was founded in 2009 by the cellist Alexander Kaganovsky and the violinist Emir Imerov. Both artists hold leading positions as members of the Solistes Européens Luxembourg. They also play as top musicians with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta, the Bern Symphony Orchestra and the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker. The pianist and conductor Vag Papian takes the piano part. He is well-known internationally, too, and accompanies the violinist Maxim Vengerov, amongst others.
Emir Imerov
born in Skopje, Macedonia, moved to Mönchengladbach, Germany. He studied at the Music Academy in Würzburg. Already during his studies he won several prizes in the competitions.
Since 2004, Emir Imerov holds a principal violin position with the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker and is a violin teacher at Mönchengladbach Municipal Academy of Music.

Alexander Kaganovsky
born in Kiev, Ukraine. He continued his studies at the Tel-Aviv Rubin Academy of Music and won the first prize at the Academy Competition. Since 1998 he has lived in Switzerland, participated in numerous festivals and has played as a soloist with many well-known orchestras. Alexander Kaganovsky has made many recordings for radio, TV and CD.


Vag Papian
began his career as a pianist in 1979, was soon invited to perform in all major concert halls in the former Soviet Union. In 1982 Papian went to study conducting at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. He has made guest appearances with most of the major symphony orchestras as well as continuing to perform as a pianist. Since he immigrated to Israel in 1990, he has taken the post of associate conductor with the Beer Sheva Symphony Orchestra. As a recital partner to Maxim Vengerov, Papian has toured in a lot of countries and made recordings with Vengerov for EMI Classic.
